I am enjoying the bold , colorful and dynamic affirmations I see via social media and hear from personal conversations . There is a collective hopefulness radiating from people who have experienced trauma and turmoil in 2020 . 2020, was frankly an unprecedented year of national and international challenges .Many of us experienced a paralysis of our creativity, plans and goal implementation. Now embolden by the freshness that comes with a new year we have made plans to change the world . We have relocated to new cities , reimagined our strategy and reconnected with folks who will help us live purposefully. Congratulations , you are a part of the doers and world changers community .

Now that I have celebrated your incredible creative resilience , I want to provide you with a word of advice . WRITE YOUR PLANS IN PENCIL ! The amazing thing about writing our plans in pencil is that it gives us the much needed leadership tool of flexibility . Flexibility must be an anchor for all creators. You can count on clients changing their minds , contracts being delayed and other unexpected happenings that have beset other creators like yourself. Instead of fighting with delays and setbacks you must embrace them. When I would do worksheets in grade school my teachers would always implore me to use a pencil. Their wisdom extends beyond my adolescent years , it has become a mantra for all of my creative endeavors . You should write your plans in pencil not as an act of fear but rather an act of wisdom.
