I grew up in a city of hustlers ! Philadelphia is distinguished by its exceptionally talented creatives . From the vibrant street musicians to mural artist who masterfully enhance abandoned homes with their creative genius , the city has a hustling ethos that impacts all of its residents. Most folks, be it the poised politician or the neighborhood handyman have a energetic spirit that allows them to seek opportunities wherever they may be found. Hustling is not unique to Philly, its power can be found in all types of human enclaves. You may even identify yourself as a hustler . I certainly have claimed this covetous title .

I am afraid however that the art of hustling may rob us of seeing the beauty of the process . We often are hustling to get to a given destination . We through the lens of hustling rush to reach the zenith of success and status. This rush found often in a hustling paradigm forces us to ignore the process and use our energy to center our attention on the end result. I believe this may be a greater hindrance to our leadership than it is a valuable assest . If we are to be honest the process is what forms and informs us . In my esimation many podcast , books and films are hurled into success because they invite viewers to journey through someone’s process . I further argue that if you want to have meaningful success and influence it must be build on communicating the lessons learned from the process of obtaining greatness and not the proverbal trophy associated with it .
