- What environmental conditions are needed for me to thrive in my role ?
You should take an inventory of what you need to be successful . Here is a sample of my inventory;

2. What questions can I ask to gain insight into the culture of my potential workplace and/or team ?
In most interviews you will be asked “ do you have any questions for me/us “? Many of us may humbly decide to not ask questions . I encourage you to ask at least two questions of a potential employer . The questions below are good exploratory questions .
- How would you describe the workplace culture at ( insert the name of the organization )?
- Can you describe a time that there was a challenge/conflict with the team and how did you all overcome that challenge/conflict ?
If the team you will potentially be working on is new, you could ask “ how does the company traditionally handle workplace conflict ?
3. What are non-starters for this position?
You should have a list of non-starters for yourself . You have worth , value and dignity. NO organization is worth compromising your standards. What factors will prevent you from accepting the offer (ex ineffective communication , unethical ultimatums). I recently parted ways from a potential employer because of their values did not align with who I am . The opportunity was amazing but the cost of compromise was too high for my moral budget .
